Supporting Troops & Citizenship Education
O'Halloran International is partnering with communities and schools in Carroll, Cherokee and Fort Dodge to support citizenship and community involvement for the 2011-2012 school year. O'Halloran International, led by Jim O'Halloran, is employee-owned and Iowa-based. Jim O'Halloran himself has led the efforts to collect and ship care package items and is sponsoring Karlos Kirby to talk with kids to build awareness about citizenship - in the local, national and global arenas.

Carroll
Care Packages: Contributions from Carroll students, citizens and businesses added up to more than 100 care packages that helped three units in the Middle East.

Community Education on Citizenship-Local, National & Global: Several hundred students attending Carroll Community and Carroll Kuemper participated in discussion on citizenship and cultural information sharing about Afghanistan during September.
Cherokee
Care Packages & Community Involvement: Cherokee generostiy translated into more than 200 care packages being assembled! We will sponsor Karlos Kirby during Veteran's Day (November 11) activities in Cherokee. Fort Dodge
Character Counts and O'Halloran International, along with many local businesses, are joining together to Pay It Forward in October by assembling and shipping care packages for troops overseas. There are many drop-off places and opportunities - just look for the sign on the right posted in local businesses.

Citizenship: Kids & Communities
O'Halloran International is sponsoring a guest speaker to promote discussion and learning about the many faces of citizenship. During the 2011-2012 school year, Middle and Grade School students in Carroll, Cherokee and Fort Dodge will have the chance to discuss and interact with Karlos Kirby on a couple topics:
